How to play
Every run of white squares, across and down, is a word. There are no clues, only totals.
Each letter is worth its place in the alphabet: A = 1, B = 2 … Z = 26. The number in a dark square is what the word next to it adds up to. Top number: the word going right. Bottom number: the word going down.
Tap a square and type. Tap it again to switch between across and down. The bar shows your total so far; it turns green when the word is real and adds up.
The Mini lists the words you need under the grid. Use the totals to work out where each one goes.
Tips
- Two-letter words first. There are only a few dozen, and most totals point to one or two. 21 is AT or OF; 29 is IT, NO or ON.
- Big totals mean big letters. A three-letter word worth 60 or more needs letters from the far end of the alphabet. WHO is 46; YOU is 61.
- Use the crossing. One letter you're sure of pins down the word running through it. Tap the square again to see what that word needs.
Check marks wrong letters; Reveal fills one in. Both count as help. Monday is the easiest; the grids grow through the week to the big Sunday Thicket.
