How to play
Today's word is tangled up in smaller words. Untangle it.
Down: tap a letter to remove it. The rest stay in order, and every step must be a real word. Keep going until one letter is left: A or I. Some words can't get that far; those stop at a two-letter word, and the game tells you when a word has a two-letter floor.
Up: add letters back one at a time, in any order, using only today's letters. A word you used on the way down can't be used again.
DOWN: STARTLING · STARTING · STARING · STRING · STING · SING · SIN · IN · I
UP: I · IT · NIT · TING · GIANT · RATING · RATTING · RATTLING
Get back to full length for the full circle.
Timer: off by default. Tap the ⏱ chip to play against the clock (2:00 or 1:00 per game); the clock starts on your first move and the game ends when it runs out. Undos are counted and shown with your result.
Scoring: 1 point per word, 3 for reaching the floor, 5 more for the full circle.
Tips
- Plan the way down with the climb in mind. The words you spend going down are gone.
- Dropping a letter from the middle is where the good chains hide (STARTING to STARING).
- Stuck on the way up? Change the order: NIT and TIN, STING and TINGS.
